The Erasmus+ “Heartland” Project has come to a close. "Heartland" was a unique initiative that combines outdoor experiential education, cultural mediation and mindfulness with art expression to help professionals build resilience and overcome challenges in their personal and professional lives.

“Youth workers and helping professionals face many challenges in their day-to-day work. They work long hours, deal with complex cases and are often exposed to traumatic events. We believe that providing them with opportunities to learn, recharge and connect with others in a supportive and non-judgmental environment can make a significant difference to their mental health and wellbeing.” says Zsuzska Juhász, trainer of the Academy of Experience and one of the founders of the project.

The project offers a range of activities including 40 easy to learn and use resilience tools (outdoor activities, art expressions) and an online course that are designed to promote self-care, stress management and overall well-being.

The project is open to all youth workers and helping professionals who are interested in taking a proactive approach to their mental health and wellbeing. Participation is free and all materials are provided.

The project coordinator is Academy of experience, a non-profit organization that supports the mental health and wellbeing of youth workers and other helping professionals through non-formal education. The partners of the project are Lugar Especifico from Portugal, Marta Centrs from Latvia and Outward Bound Romania from Romania.
